Can setting your GPU voltage too high cause an overclock to be unstable? Is it a good idea to max out the voltage when overclocking?

if the voltage is too high you can kill the GPU core, search online for your safe voltage, expample: gtx 970 save voltage

Sometimes you need more voltage for a stable OC.

I recommend to OC with stock voltage so you're not forcing the gpu a lot. But it all comes down to personal preference.

If you max it you allow the GPU to draw more power and maybe you achive higher clockspeeds

I don't mean completely destroy the GPU I just mean will setting it to the max in MSI Afterburner cause the overclock to crash the driver.
