Website Developement

Go to solution Solved by Laputacake,

Look at codeacedemy to learn HTML and CSS and then the only hard bit will be designing it.

So, maybe in the future I might make a small business that sells pc's and potentially make a website to advertise that, and it might be a nice skill to have. I'm aware of Lynda.com and Squarespace, but are there any alternatives? Specifically something free, and keep in mind that I'm pretty much at square one though. I've done some coding before but it was only bare basics as a school subject, and that was game coding.

Thanks in advance,

soaringchicken

Instead of learning how to build a website from scratch its way easier to get something like squarespace or shopify where you can modify the HTML files yourself (and figure out stuff by trial and error) and learn how a website is structured. I find it much easier to understand HTML instead of learning how to build a website from ground up. You might get frustrated and loos interest.

if you can wait until april mid i can develop one for you

Thanks, but I'm talking like like 1/1 and a half years into the future. I have to look for a part time job to pay for domain costs and do some further experience in PC's to gain a bit more credibility further than a guy whose built/fixed a few pc's and is a member of a forum :3. Also, I need something to do in my spare time

code academy is very good for free learning of the basics. after that google will help you sort out any conflicts or issues. a word of warning/help. hltml and css alone will not get you through, jquerry is a must IMHO and php. i would learn in that order too
