I can't figure out how to use the maximum resolution my monitor will allow. Right now it's capped out at 1920×1200 when my monitor(PA279Q) allows for 2560×1440. My Graphic card is the GTX 760. I'm using the display port for my monitor.

I would like to use the max resolution to help with photo editing.

Most likely it's user error or I'm expecting something that can't or won't happen.

Try setting a custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel. Also look in the monitor's internal menu and see if there is a DisplayPort revision control. Some monitors come with DisplayPort v1.1 mode enabled by default for compatibility reasons.

Also known as the monitor's OSD or On Screen Display. ;)

People don't always know what I mean by OSD, sometimes not even when I spell it out On Screen Display.

Well, they might not even know what you mean by internal menu either. ;)

That term seems easier for people to figure out than OSD, at least no one has asked me since I started using it.

Hi,

This will the maximum resolution 2560x1440.

Booting on windows may able to use the full 2560x1440 resolution. The step need to do is open the nvidia settings panel and create the custom resolution using the horizontal and vertical frequencies listed in the monitor's manual. Then select "CVT reduce blanking" to get the proper pixel clock (around 240) and that configuration may work.

As you want to know, HDMI pixel clock is not high enough. HDMI 1 are limited to 165Mhz clock, while this monitor operates at 241.50 with a full resolution.

You could force the mode validation in xorg.conf but the monitor ended up with no signal.

Hope this helps.!!!
