Desktop Dac/Headphone AMP Combo

Hey Guys,

 

So I'm buying new studio monitors and i need DAC/Headphone AMP Combo and i'm totally confused which one to buy.

 

I'm considering M-Audio BX8 D2 Studio Monitors and my headphones are Audio Tehnica Ath M50x, Beyerdyanmic DT 88o Pro 600oHMs editon and i have fiio's headphone amp but now i need a desktop dac to drive my studio monitors and amp for headphones. 

 

I need a combo of both and guys i'm open to suggestion for more studio monitors to.

Magni 2 and Modi 2 made by Schiit (reviewed by linus).

 

Tannoy, JBL, and KRK all make great studio monitors.

Wait, studio monitors? Studio monitors already got DAC and amp built-in inside of them. That's the difference between studio monitors and plain active speakers. 

You can get passive studio monitors, and my studio monitors do not have DAC's they have an unbalanced 1/4" in as well as XLR. Also studio monitors are known for their accurate reproduction of sound as opposed to a "great listening experience" that most speaker manufactures use to describe standard speakers.

Guys can i use  Focusrite scarlet 2i2 or 2i4 as dac/ amp combo.

Just make sure that the signal going to your monitors are NOT amplified if they are active speakers. If they are I see distortion in your future.

Those monitors are powered. A dac/amp will do little to nothing. Save your money.

Those monitors are powered, you don't need a dac & amp.

 

If you look on the back, there's a wall plugin built in.
