z906 leds

Go to solution Solved by Easter_Bunny321,

in norway the z906 was the only 5.1 system in this price-range that actually had a good subwoofer. and honestly i am all about da bass

i have a red/black colorscheme on my setup, and therefor i thought that maybe i should add leds to my sub. maybe a ring of 3820 leds around the edge. what i want to know is, is there any chance adding led's may harm the speakers? or the amp? thanks (and sorry for the possibly bad english)

Yeah use a controller or some other means of hooking them up, hooking it up to the amp may fry them.

Add an SCR circuit/connection to the audio cable, to have the LED blink to the bass. Just like 90's boombox. Now that's something...

Or like in my hypermodern Boominator build :) What's SCR btw?

Basically a relay circuit/component. External voltage act as a trigger for the gate. I made a sound triggering flash (as in photography) with just one component. It's fun....

I agree it's not the best out there, but it definitely isn't shit. A complete plug and play THX certified powerful 5.1 surround set for 300-400 euros is pretty awesome. Depending on your usecase there are indeed other/better options out there.

No all Logitech is muddy shit ! They don't know what a dam Tweeter is !

I would save the money that would be spent toward shit and put it toward quality . Just IMHO !

Coming from a guy that's using HD449....

If you're dissing the product (z906), it's fairly good, for the price. Are there anything that's better? Yes, a ton. In the same price range? Maybe yes, but not many. Kinda like HD449, isn't it?

If you're dissing on the brand, just remember Logitech is the father brand of Ultimate Ears custom IEM, one of the most renowned custom IEM brand. Logitech as a brand choose to play at low-middle end range of products, because in mass production context, that's the range where the real moolah is at.

Kinda like people dissing Swatch group for their plastic watches, but many people don't know that Swatch group is the father company of Omega, Rado, Tissot, etc http://www.swatchgroup.com/en/brands_and_companies/watches_and_jewelry/prestige_and_luxury_range.

It's a threeway system complete with sub, fullrange and tweeter that properly extends to 20khz. Plus a tone control to alter the freq response to your liking.

No it's not dedicated it's an all for one craptastic junker. Look at a proper real set of 3 way or 4 way speaker system. Oh and my $80 Dollar Skullcandys have more detail and better overall sound quality and fidelity than any Logitech junk. If you are going cheap Altech Lansing used to have a decent 2.1 set.

Sigh that you would compare Sennheiser to Logitech is funny as hell. I am more of a Klipsch guy myself but Logitech is really muddy garbage and at leased Sennheiser is crisp and clean sound. Logitech speakers are entry level mass consumer trash.

It's a 3 way speaker system.... Hate on a product, not on a brand.

Comparing a headphone with speakers is not fair. Those are different things used for different usecases.

I also don't get why Creatip would call the Sennheisers bad. Those are pretty good headphones.

It's a 3 way speaker system.... But I'm not going to argue any further because I don't see the point.

It's not real 3 way. You cant get true three way from one speaker. Ya the HD 449s are decent mid range speakers.

Mistake from my side: it's a two way system. Sub for bass and fullranger for mid and high. No tweeter.

Doesn't mean it has no high tones, IIRC it can cover 40-20k Hz +/-3db.

I don't see any point in 4-ways, but I can see why you want a 3 way in certain scenarios

In this case a 2way is all it takes to cover the most of the audio spectrum. For 2.0 you could also go with woofer+tweeter instead of sub+FR.

The Z5500s were so overhyped. They sounded like mud no matter what and the Z906s are no different.

Not saying the HD449 is bad. It's good for that price range, like the z906 in question. Are there anything better in the upper price class? A lot. Better in the same class? A few. In those traits, it's similar with the HD449. They're both middle-range products that are good considering the price. What I meant was, why diss something when you own something similar (in traits, not in the actual product).

  • 4 years later...

I am the only one which has a very weird LOUD bass effect even in low volume? Or maybe this is a problem caused by my motherboard integrated sound card? I am asking because I haven't felt this effect when I bought the Z906 speakers. And they worked just fine for a long period of time. Until I used the FULL volume at a party for about 30 minutes. Nothing bad happened then, but after the party the next day I noticed this weird bass problem. Anyone seen the same problem ever again?
