Hello,

So, I first wanted to get a h240-x and expend it later to my gpu. But the total price of this would be ~300 euro. So I decided that it would probably be worth it to make my own custom loop since it isn't that much more expensive and looks a lot better.

These are my pc specs:

Mobo: Asus P9 X79

CPU: i7 3930k

GPU: gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming

RAM: 24gb

Case: Corsair 750D

These are the components that I thought would be best for the custom loop.

Pump: EK-DCP 4.0 PWM 12V DC PWM Pump - http://www.highflow.nl/pompen/andere-fabrikanten/ek-dcp-4.0-pwm-12v-dc-pwm-pump.html

Radiator: Swiftech MCR320 360MM Radiator - http://www.highflow.nl/radiatoren/3-x-120mm-360/swiftech-mcr320-360-radiator.html

Reservoir: EK-RES X3 250 Tube Reservoir - http://www.highflow.nl/reservoirs/tube-reservoirs/ek-res-x3-250-tube-reservoir.html

Reservoir top: EK-RES X3 - Multiport TOP - http://www.highflow.nl/reservoirs/reservoir-toebehoren/ek-res-x3-multiport-top.html

CPU Block: EK-Supreme LTX CSQ - Nickel Plexi - http://www.highflow.nl/water-blocks/cpu-blocks/intel/ek-supreme-ltx-csq-nickel-plexi.html

VGA Block: EK-FC970 GTX WF3 - Nickel - http://www.highflow.nl/water-blocks/gpu-blocks/nvidia/ek-fc970-gtx-wf3-nickel.html

Fittings:10x 10MM (3/8 ID - 1/2 OD) EK-CSQ Schroeffitting - G1/4 Nickel -  http://www.highflow.nl/aansluitingen/fittingen/3-8-fitting-10mm-od/10mm-3-8-id-1-2-od-ek-psc-schroeffitting-g1-4-nickel.html

Tubing: PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8 ID - 1/2 OD - Crystal Clear - PFLEXA-12 - http://www.highflow.nl/slangen/3-8-slangen-10mm-id/primochill-primoflex-advanced-lrt-3-8-id-1-2-od-crystal-clear-pflexa-12.html

Coolant: EK-Ekoolant Pastel BLUE concentrate 250mL - http://www.highflow.nl/koelvloeistof/toevoegingen/ek-ekoolant-pastel-blue-concentrate-250ml.html

For a total of: 402 Euro.

Now I already have a couple of questions:

-Would this radiator be enough for the CPU and GPU? It's quite thin (34mm). Should I buy a thicker one or go for a 240 radiator and a 120 rad, or 240x2 (I'm on a budget so can't spend too much)?

-My plan is to first build a CPU loop only, than add the GPU into loop. How would you suggest to drain this loop?

-What fittings would look best with this mobo?

Thank you for reading.

  1. yes, that radiator is sufficient, but i'd look to the alphacool XT45 (fits fine in the 750/760 chassis). then if you upgrade to SLI/CFX, then adding a 240x 60 in the front on on the floor will be dandy.
  2. T-block on bottom of pump outlet with a ball-valve and fitting.
  3. prolly the shiney silver as the mobo has silver on it or monsoon blue fittings (wrong shade)

Is it also possible to drain it without these components? and what about putting a valve at the reservoir with a fitting?

Would those nickel fittings I linked be considered shiney silver?

I would go with the Alphacool XT45: http://www.highflow.nl/radiatoren/3-x-120mm-360/alphacool-nexxxos-xt45-full-copper-360mm-14166.html

or an EK PE 360 which is the same brand and looks better (to me): http://www.highflow.nl/radiatoren/3-x-120mm-360/ek-coolstream-pe-360-radiator.html

They would both be sufficient for a single graphics card. but like he said a second radiator would help temperatures if you get another GTX 970

I also agree with his fitting choice.

Well I agree with everything he said.... so yeah.....Cheers!

I am addicted to building gaming PCs but I don't have a great reason to stop...yet...
