Hello, this is my 1st post here. If I posted this on the wrong sub-forum, please kindly move this to the appropriate sub-forum. TQ

Guys I need your thought and advice. So I've been building and upgrading a PC that I own. I dont have much budget, so I try to add new hardware when I can afford it(including buying used hardware). My rig have been upgraded few times, and I planning to upgrade something soon. Here are my specs, and feel free to give me advice which hardware I should upgrade next. I will be using the rig mostly for gaming and occasionally watching movie.

CPU: C2D E7500

GPU: GTX760

RAM: 4GB DDR3

HDD: WD Blue 500GB

Playing on 1920x1080 only

So what I'm looking here to improve my gaming experience, I was thinking of getting a used 2nd gen or probably 3rd gen i5 (as 4th gen i5 is still kinda expensive for me). Or maybe should stick the cpu I have now, and OC the hell of it, and get 8GB RAM instead.

Thank you for reading. Please dont flame me much for buying used stuff >.<

Ah I was thinking the same thing, but wanted input from people. So I've been thinking of getting maybe a 2nd/3rd gen i5, not sure which one yet. Or should I save a lil more and get the 4th gen instead? I'm not sure if 2nd/3rd/4th gen i5 would really be far apart in term of performance. I'm kinda hesitate to get the 4th gen i5 as I'm not trying to future-proofing or smthing. Just need something that will run games nicer than what I have right now. TQ for the reply

What games? Triple a? Indie? Mmo??

But a better cpu+mobo+adding 4gb ddr3 for a total of eight would benefit you in a large range of games.

Your gou is still pretty good, no need to upgrade that in the next two years or maybe three.

Ah nice to hear. There's quite number of flamers on the internet, so I was kinda ashamed to post this tbh. Was expecting heavy flame cuz I'm still using C2D lol

Well nowday I mostly play MMO like Blade and Soul and planning to try Black Desert, and I would like to play Triple A games to help me break free from MMO addiction (trying to quit MMO and do something productive in life).

So IDK it its worth to get older gen i5. Will it be capable of running games decently. Or 4th gen i5 is the only way to go?

Thanks for the reply.
