By the time I finish my part time job in February I will have around  £900, because it's my birthday in feb my parents are likely to chip in a little money, I was just wondering what 3D printer I should get.

I was looking at the ultimaker 2(the one barnacules uses AFAIK) but it's a little costly. Just wondering what other alternatives that are out there.

"a little money" should be specified. To some people, that could be 50, others, thousands. Wynaut Makerbot?

probably around £200 max, maker bot does look like a good option

3D doodler! It's only 100quid in Maplin mate

I'd like something with a little more precision. My hands steadiness is comparable to an earthquake, whereas a 3d printers print head is like a ripple in a pond.

It's not worth spending less on a 3d printer. I have an reprappro mono mendel. Which its cheap, but it's cheap because it's very basic (No auto adjust on the print surface, like the Makerbots have. Amoung other things..) It's doing a pretty good job, when it's working. But it requires alot of tinkering to get it there.

Do you really need one?

If yes, get the one that you suggested in post #3

If no, save up and wait for a couple of years. There will be much better options in a couple of years for the same money (or even less) and you'll be kicking yourself for spending a non-trivial amount of money on this.

Compatible with Windows 95
