facebook doesn't load all the way on linux...?

Using ubuntu 14.04.1.

After post in in ubuntu and linux mint forum and receiving no help i'm hoping someone here can help. Originally i wanted i want to switch my moms dell optiplex gx620/4 gb ram/hd 6450 512mb to linux mint 17.1 cinnamon , but do to stability issues i decide ubuntu  14.04.1 LTS might be a better way to go. either way the problem that i'm concerned about is facebook. As its something my mom uses on the reg.

Here's a copy n paste of what i posted in the forums:

"So my mom recently brought to my attention that facebook isn't working properly. I have zero problems browsing any other sites, but FB only loads part of the way and what does load takes a really long time. First i thought it was on FB side, but i switched over to windows and found it working just fine. So... then i thought well maybe its a browser issues, but have the same problem in firefox, opera, chrome, ect. in ubuntu/mint.

What loads:
ads/sponsors
header bar/search bar
options and quick links on the left
only the first couple post of the feed/timeline
online friends(only sometimes)
only first couple notifications in the notifications dropdown including friends

wow this is hard one to explain. Hope you guys understand what i'm saying. Maybe i'll post a pic if need be. Not like anything on FB is private anyways."

For the life of me I can't figure out why I have no trouble in win 7, but have trouble in linux. Its also really frustrating that the problem is persistent across both mint 17.1 and ubuntu 14.04.1. Not to mention i've been at this for a week now.

Did you already tried to reset the browser or disable the hardware acceleration?

I have no Problem to load Facebook on my Ubuntu 14.10, so it might be a problem with Hardware/Software combination cause the system seems to be very old.

If you go into Chrome and press [Ctrl] + [shift] + [J] and go to Network.

Is there any file that is not loaded correctly (has not status 200 OK)

Make sure you have no Addons installed (if you have, disable them) and disable all VPN settings in the machine.

Also if possible try to load through a different internet connection. (mobile hotspot, VPN, etc.)

The 3 gifs are just the animations for the stuff on facebook, nothing to do with chrome.

I don't really know how all the scripts in facebook work together, so i can't help you with debugging the facebook scripts.

If you ceally can't figure out why the scripts don't execure correctly and non of the above helps, maybe there are ppl with more knowledge on the facebook help community. (https://www.facebook.com/help/community)
