Hi, what are the things to consider while picking a monitor? Like I know about the response time and input lag and obviously about the resolution, but what about the brightness, contrast ratio?? I am looking for a monitor for gaming, and currently have Amd... might switch to nvidia soon tho.

Thanks

Resolution, IPS/TN, refresh rate, Gsync/Freesync, size, Vesa support, and inputs.

/response time/contrast ratios are meaningless btw

Anyway, here's what I would get (if you're in the US, and if you plan on gaming at 1080p 60fps): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umvh6aa003

Hi,

Go for AOC G2460PQU or BenQ 1ms GTG XL2720Z . This are the best gaming monitors in 2014.

They're also 144hz, which he might very well not be able to drive, or might not even benefit enough from it to warrant the poor colors associated with a TN panel or the extra cost associated with a 144hz monitor.
