windows wont install

Go to solution Solved by PowerPigeon,

i have the disc and i can get an external disc drive, kinda sucks but if nothing else works. and 2x4gb

Try taking one stick of memory out and running the install, if it doesn't work try the other stick. If/when you get Windows installed install the other RAM stick and maybe run Memtest to see if everything is working okay.

If that doesn't work, the disc drive is probably the best way to go.

i just built my pc and im trying to install windows without a cd drive, i've tried getting it straight from windows and using their software to put it on a usb, and i've used imgburn/rufus, but i get an error message "windows cannot install required files. the file may be corrupt or missing. make sure all files required for installation are available , then restart the installation error code: 0x80070570" any idea on whats wrong?

Sounds like a bad ISO

Doing a bit of research that sounds like the most likely issue.

i've done it twice from windows site and once from img burn, and it always happens

Are you downloading the ISO via wireless or over an Ethernet connection? Someone I found online had the same issue as you, and was able to get the installation working by downloading the ISO over Ethernet. You might be getting an incomplete ISO due to packet loss if you are using WiFi.

You are downloading the ISO through the Windows Create Media tool found here, correct? Have you tried both downloading the ISO and creating a bootable drive with the tool?

When you get the error message after the install fails, what options do you have to click on? I've found a thread suggesting that if you click "Cancel" you can simply restart the install process and is may work.

yeah, same error code

Do you have an installation DVD that came with your product code that you could use? It may be that you just need to spend $20 on an external DVD drive in order to install your OS, that's what I did with my computer.

How many sticks of RAM do you have in your computer? Can you try installing with just a single stick installed?

Try taking one stick of memory out and running the install, if it doesn't work try the other stick. If/when you get Windows installed install the other RAM stick and maybe run Memtest to see if everything is working okay.

If that doesn't work, the disc drive is probably the best way to go.

Be sure to NOT use USB 3.0, missing drivers can cause this.

If you are using disc, then it could be the optical drive that you have have dust or trouble reading the disk you have (numerous reasons, form simply not liking it, the pack of disk you got is faulty or has some disc inside that are faulty (yes, it happens), or the optical drive can't hold the disc properly when it spins, making the disk spin at variable speed and can't read the data correctly, etc..)

Is that booting to the USB drive that is working or the installation that is working?

i pressed "any key" and nothing happened, it decided to work, i tried one dimm and it gave me the same code, i switched it, and it seems to be working, its at 74% so far, so it should work

installed worked, what progragm do i run to test the second stick?

Did you have to remove a RAM stick to make it work? If you did, put it back in an try www.memtest86.com. I'm not really an expert on memory, so I won't be able to help you with the test results or setting it up, but I'm sure someone on the forum would be able to.
