Hi guys, I'm new to this community. I just finished building my first PC. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOijw3OER7o

I have few problems however.

  1. My power and reset switches are not responding.
  2. My motherboard debug LED keeps on switching between codes A0 and D4
  3. And whenever I start Cyisis 3 it restarts the system.

Other than these three issues the system is running perfectly fine. All applications run smoothly and games also play at high and ultra settings. I really need your help and would appreciate any positive input from you guys in regards to my problems. Thanks.

1) How are you switching the computer on?

2) You are best looking in your motherboard manual for the explanation of the post codes.

3) Does it blue screen? Or black screen? Or just completely restart the system instantly as you start it?

Cartman - AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 3.1Ghz - 10GB Ram (Mwahahah) - 256GB Crucial MX100 Boot - 2TB WD Red - Gainward GTX 770 - Zalman Insanely Loud CNPS14X - Corsair 230T Orange

1. if you turn it on by shorting the pins on mobo, then you either connected the pwr/reset buttons wrong, or there's some cabling problem on your case, imo it's the first since both are not working, it would be really hard to get a case with both buttons not working

2. as said, check the manual

3. could be something wrong with the game, try checking the game files

edit:

the codes mean

A0 IDE initialization is started

D4 PCI resource allocation error. Out of Resources

bit beyond my knowledge tho

i think IDE has something to do with HDD, at least i think that was the old interface for HDDs :D, those big wide cables are called IDE, but probably it is not related since you have SATA connections

edit #2

if you google the PCI resource allocation error. Out of Resources, you'll find more people with this code, even some on this forum already had the same issues as you

I've done that, I'm starting to think that issue is from the case. The system is not overlocked, and as for the memtest I have no idea how to do it.

There's a power button on the MB. I checked the MB for the codes. One indicates 'IDE initialisation is starting', and the other's got to do with PCI lane i think. As for the Crysis problem, it restarts completely, I even lowered the setting to bear minimum but it still restarts.

If I short the pin, it starts the PC. So I think it might be from the case. What exactly are you suggesting I do if I check the game files? Do you have any idea how to tackle the PCI error?

you got that crysis on origin?

if yes, right click on the picture of the game and repair game

as for PCI error, no idea, but i suggest you search for the PCI resource allocation error. Out of Resources error and don't look for people with mobo exactly like yours, just looks for people with the same error on the mobo

as far as i've read, it seems to be some kind of a win 8 problem and the sleep/hibernate states, you got win 8 installed?

or ram problem

or something else :D

so you're starting your PC with the pwr button on the mobo?

if not and it starts when shorting the pins on mobo, then it must be some cable or button problem, inspect those

Resource error may be related with the power saving mode.

If you go to your control panel (and nvidia control panel) you can set on power saving mode to use max power at all times because the "Resource" might be related to power.

Also somewhere ( i remember doing smthin with the settings) you can set the pcie allocation to x16 mode (google somewhere around on how to do it in Windows or maybe i did it in my BIOS/UEFI) so maybe the pcie mode is limited and the "Resource" is actually bandwidth lack
