New Headphones

askmax

Hey guys so I am currently looking to get my first set of higher end headphones and have been looking at the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80ohm and the AKG K551 32ohm. I have read many reviews that say the 770's are amazing sound quality wise and are the most comfortable headphones you will wear, but I also heard the K551 have great sound quality and a wider sound stage. Im looking for the best headphones for gaming / music wise that would work well at my computer and phone on the go. Unfortunately I don't live in a place I can try either of these so any input is welcome.

Thanks.

My MMX300 headset are very similar to the DT770, and I know a few people who love them, I don't think you can go far wrong with them :)

cannot comment on the AKG, sorry no experience

I've tried both, and personally I think both headphones are boring and thin sounding. Now that is a matter of personal taste.

I'd also take a look at the Sony MDR-1R and Sennheiser Momentum they should be roughly in the same price range and be less boring.

It's more baffling than anything, but you can pretend we're all special little flowers with equally valid opinions if you want.

But it can't be all the rage if it looks like butt.

Bit of an ass man myself, might have to get a pair.
