Hello!

I'v recently bought a new monitor, when i use it, there is sever noticeable lag.

When i use my old monitor (1440x900 - upscaled to 1920x1080) the mouse had no delay. none.

When i use this new monitor (1920x1080 - any other resolution) the lag occurs.

I have tested my mouse and keyboard on other computers and there is no problem, so its purely my monitor, or how the monitor picks up my output to display (I believe).

My old monitor ran at 60mhz refresh rate and ran fine even when i overclocked it to 75mhz.

My new monitor runs at 60mhz but still has problems.

I also tried between using VGA, HDMI and DVI. Display port isn't available for me, nor do i have one.

HDMI and VGA had noticable differences, but neither fixed.

right now i have two questions, is it the refresh rate, resolution or something else and if so how do i fix the problem?

1. thing to note is that i believe it is more of a TV than a computer monitor. It doesn't pick up HDMI from a computer source too well.

A future thanks to any replies, they are much appreciated! :D

Input lag isn't due to refresh rate or resolution, it's due to input lag. It is its own thing, every monitor has an inherent signal processing time, some are slower than others.  TVs are usually much slower than monitors.

if its a tv they generally have heavy signal processing, which introduces substantial input lag

I just tested when i set them up dual and its almost non-existent on the monitor i was using previously.

Giving what you guys told me, is there a solution? Tools, fixes, etc?

Depends on the display. Please give us the model of the display in question.
