Can't install windows

Greetings,

I wanted to install windows 8 on my pc through my pendrive,but whenever i try to type in my windows key it says "Cannot verify product key,please check your installation media",I assure you the key and the OS is legit.Maybe I thought maybe I could bypass this and activate the OS later,but I looked online and found a way to add a ei.cfg file to my sources folder but that didn't work for me.Please help.

There should be a "skip" button.

 

Then, you may enter it [the key] later.

If the windows version is an .ISO file then you can use windows USB creation tool and mount the image to the flash drive. Reboot the computer and select the drive and boot up from that. It should take you through the installation process and have you register after its done.

Don't know if this is your issue but if it is a W8 key and you have a W8.1 image it wont accept it, you have to install W8 and update to 8.1. Either way there should be a skip button at the key screen to put it into trial mode.
