Is this the new reference GTX 980?

legend8887

I can't find the regular GTX 980 reference edition with the GeForce GTX logo on the side of the card that lights up green. Instead, I just find this one with the reference cooler.

If this is the "new" reference edition then I'll just get the ACX 2.0 version because the "new" one is really ugly.

@Zweihander

Is it worth it over the ACX 2.0 version?

I would say go with the acx 2.0 if you need a reference card for specific reasons (Watercooling) if not then go with an aftermarket one like the g1 gaming, strix, etc.

I think that's just a EVGA custom cooler. I haven't heard anything about NVIDIA changing their reference design

You haven't told us what you're using this for, or what your budget is.

Do you really have your heart set on a reference design?

No, this is not a reference cooler. This is a EVGA Blower cooler.

I did, it looks so good, but now you can't seem to get it unless it comes with a huge price increase.

EVGA made their own blower card.

Nvidias one is still the same.

^^ This

EVGA just designed a blower style cooler. NVdia still have their "reference" one

It looks like this:

Companies can still make blower style aftermarket coolers.. not all third party designs are open air.
