My girlfriend got a computer built for her recently. I noticed that the power switch is reversed. In stead of pressing it to turn it on, you hold it. And you press it once to turn it off. Her case is a Zalman. Is this a manufacturer thing or is the power switch cables swapped? Or something else? Motherboard? Thanks for the help.

Sounds normal, I have to hold my power button for a second or so after a full shutdown and power unplug.

If you mean reversed with the re-start switch you should be able to tell from how the computer behaves when it shuts down. i.e. is it actually shutting down or re-starting?

If you mean reversed on the pins, as far as I know it doesn't matter (the LED switch you have to get the right way around or I understand they'll burn out but the on-off and restart switch can be plugged in without worrying about the + & -  (as far as I know))

Maybe you could check the bios? It might be a bios setting.

Edit: but yes, it could be the case. I think I had one like that once. After a while I just got used to it.

The bios could be it. It isn't really a problem though. Just confused me. Thanks though.
