DAC/Amp Fiio E17 usb with iPhone5/MP3 player

Hi everyone! I'm considering buying a DAC/amp for my PC, but I want to really be able to use it also with my iPhone 5s and old school 1st gen iPod video. I know that with the 30 pin dock connector (to jack) there are non problems, but what about the  most recent lightning port?? Sure you can use the jack to jack 3.5 mm to use the amp, but the DAC needs digital audio out to really work. I looked so much around on the wed but the ideas seam to be really confused.. Does a lightning to usb camera really works? I would really like to avoid using a 30pin dock to lightning adapter..

Anyone in the same situation? Share your thoughts.. I'm searching for a both PC and mobile DAC on that price range, and the Fiio seemed the best
