Before we begin my specs are in my signature.

You guys might have seen my old thread but I have another question that was not quite explained that time.

Should I get a i7 4790k or a custom loop?

Why am I  upgrading? Simple: I need the Intel features/support and the single threaded performence.

If I buy a i7, Broadwell might launch a month from then and I would be left drooling over it.

If I get a custom loop, I miss out on those Intel tech.

Also is it worth going to the LGA 2011 (not x99) and getting a 4960x or a 4930k?

What I will be upgrading to is the following -

Why do you need a 4790K that you can't get a 4690K or that you're thinking of a 4960X? Buying the 4960X is absolute stupidity unless you're rich with more money than you know what to do with. You don't need a custom loop if you aren't doing heavy overclocking, get an NH-D15 and put some iPPC or other fans on it, and buy a 4690K and BAM you have both upgrades for the price of one.

I dont like air coolers... They are huge and I do heavy overclocking, right now my FX is at 5.2 at gaming.

Still doesn't explain why you need a 4790K or a 4960X. Broadwell isn't even going to be that big of an upgrade from Haswell, it'll be Z87 to Z97 except with less power consumption.

I need it because of the features. SSD caching, better SATA controllers, and dat ROG look.
