So I'm currently running my brand new computer with an i7-4790k @4ghz and a Corsair H60.

I'm currently watching a youtube video, posting this, downloading Hitman:Absolution, downloading an update and running HWMonitor. With all that running, my CPU is running around 38-43 degrees Celsius. Is this ok or is this a little too high?

Depending on your ambient temps, that's perfectly fine.

I'm currently playing Sim City on the highest settings and it's saying the same. Now i know it's not a demanding game, but still haha. Also, my room is roughly 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Does this sound ok?

Perfectly fine.

As long as your load temps stay below 80c then you're perfectly fine.

so i just did a prime95 test and the highest it hit was 88 degrees. That seems very high to me

Try removing your cooler, cleaning thermal paste off your CPU and cooler, then apply new thermal paste and put the cooler back on. (Be sure to clean it very well!)

Maybe also try increasing the pump speed if you can and/or radiator fan speed.

If you've had it for a while it might be dusty, so you could try cleaning any dust out too.
