Cryorig R1 Ultimate replace/remove fans?

Hi, i bought a Cryorig R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler & i'm asking myself if i could run the cooler with fans from another brand or even remove them completly?

I'm using a i5-4690k in a well cooled Fractal Design Define R5

@Lays has one, so he probably knows.

Yeah you can replace them with another 140 mm fan. I dont know why you would. I personally own the same cooler and do not have any problems with the fans at all.

Why  do you want to replace them?
