980 SLI Question

A friend of mine has dual 980s in SLI with two 4k Monitors.

Is he supposed to plug in a display to one card and then another display in the other? Or is he supposed to plug both displays up to the "Main Card"?

 

I am not 100% sure how it works.

usually both monitors plug into the top card

 

may work in other configs, but not sure

That's what I was thinking. Right now he has one monitor connected to each card.

To get SLI to work correctly, you have to plug all of your monitors into the top card.

All displays plug into the main card, The only time you plug displays into the second card is if your setting up nvidia surround
