Does this look like a good build? Where should the radiator be, and what configuration should the 6 Airflow fans be in? Recommendations and revisions gladly accepted.I mostly game and do 3d rendering. Tips are welcome, as this is my first build. I also do realize that this is very much overkill.

Swap the Corsair RM for the EVGA Supernova G2.

The Phanteks Luxe comes with 3 Fans pre-installed. I doubt you will need to buy 6 extra fans.

Put the X61 at the top of the case.

I want the corsair fans. The preinstalled NZXT fans are rather loud. The radiator will be installed on the top-front. Front two and bottom two are intake, top three and back will be exhaust. Does that sound good?

PS why the supernova? Why is it better?

Budget?

Preferred color scheme?

Location?

It seems alright...

I have a budget of around $2000 excluding tax. I don't care about the colors, because I will have fancy rgb ambient LED's everywhere. I won't even be able to tell the original color. DISCO FTW! What do you mean by location? It is pretty cool here in the Bay area, and the space I will put the computer in is pretty open.

Does this look like a good build?

I would stick to 8GB RAM sticks rather than 4GB sticks. Radiator should go in the top.

I think the Corsair RM series is fine, the difference is a wash IMHO.

You want fans with high static pressure if you are using them on a radiator. So you would want the 'SP' fans if you go with the Corsair ones.

The AF fans are best suited to situations where there is no airflow restriction i.e Exhaust or the Front intake if you remove the drive bay/s. The SP fans work best where you have airflow restrictions as they push the air through.

The EVGA is indeed a better psu. The Corsair uses some 2nd tier caps whereas the EVGA uses all Japanese ones.

Why 8gb sticks? Wouldn't 4x4 be able to take advantage of quad channel? There would still be four open slots for upgrading.

Well, the AF fans will be exhaust and intake. I am using the default radiator fans. I meant that the default phanteks fans were loud. My bad.

I mean go with 4x8GB if you're rendering and doing video editing, with the possibility going to 64GB total with all DIMMs full. In my work right now (architectural modeling, rendering and animation) I consistently use more than 20GB of memory in AfterEffects. More RAM helps me because I use all my programs concurrently

Okay then, i will go with 4 x 8. Thanks!
