no internet connection

Go to solution Solved by Byonnem,

Hello guys,

first off all sorry for the late response,

I tried all of your suggestions.... and i came to the conclusion that it's a virus.

Someone suggested to download KasperSky full version and run it, i did it but it couldn't find anything, i tried the same with AVG and Norton.

So i have backupped my stuff and I'm now formating the drive and reinstalling windows.

Thanks for all the help,

COnclusion time: Don't get virusses

hello guys,

Yesterday i was just browsing facebook and suddenly internet stopped working.

I reset my router and my pc, but the internet is just dead. Then i tried the cable which connects my PC on my laptop to see if the cable was damaged, but no problem, internet was working fine on the laptop...(WIFI was disabled!, so it must have been the cable internet that was working)  So i decided to update my drivers, which i couldn't find online, so i used the utility disc that i got together with my motherboard. (was that a bad thing to do?) but still no signal. but than there is a weird part to the story: It says it's connected!? and is sending and recieving Bytes....

If i typ something in chrome i will get this error:

ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED

(update) i now have the error:

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

(update) i now have the error:

ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED

this is the stuff that's in the LAN Connection details:

discription: qualcomm atheros AR8161/8165 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)

IPv4 WINS-server (empty)

NetBIOS by TCPIP enabled True

Link-local Ipv6 (a really long string of numers and letters)

IPv6 standardgateway (empty)

IPv6 DNS-server          (empty)

specs:

windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

Intel core i5 3470 (no overclock)

ram 16 GB (2 x8GB kingston valueram 1600 mhz)

MSI Twin Frozr Gaming gtx 760

Samsung 1TB HDD

Gigabyte H77-D3H (MOTHERBOARD!!)

The internet chip is apparently a qualcomm atheros AR8161/8165 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20).

the router is a Cisco EPC3925

it's a pretty bad router, but we aren't allowed to change it (stupid ISP...)

1.Fysiek adress: Physical adress

2. You should not 'update' your drivers to the version on the disk. They are usually hugely outdated, but they are stable as a rock!

Updated drivers for your board can be found here.

3. Can you try this for me?

Go to Start; type "cmd" ; open the command prompt; type in ping www.google.com or ping www.microsoft.com

That time I saved Linus' WiFi pass from appearing on YouTube:

There is also Google my friend ;)

Try starting windows in safe mode with network abilities and see if the problem persists. Im beginning to suspect some software or virus messing about

yep tried that

Try start>cmd>right click on cmd and run as administrator, "netsh int ip reset" then reboot, if that doesn't work, try downloading a decent antivirus and and activating it's trail mode and run a scan, I prefer Kaspersky Internet security
