You need to setup a static Ip address for your PC.

You need to allow the port to be forwarded through your router (usually type you gateway IP into browser URL).

Allow port 25565.

All shoudl be good if you need help send me a message.

Is there a way to host a server if you can't obtain a static ip? I'm using Cogeco in Canada and they told me they don't offer static ip's to residential areas. I was thinking of doing something like DynDNS or some other DNS server, but I don't really know how this works. This will only be for a few friends and myself, any suggestions?

While they may not expressly offer a static ip address, chances are your ip address will rarely or never change because that's usually what they use to track your usage for billing, etc. Plus the only time your ip might change is when you cycle the power of your modem, which you should never need to do, so I wouldn't worry about it.

My isp doesn't hand out static IPs either, but I've been using the same ip address for my server for 3 and a half years.

Register for a free dyndns service such as noip that will update the IP address when it changes
