Heyo,

So ever since I've been on Windows 8.1 my WiFi just suddenly just drops out, its happens like 2-3 times a day. There is no 'Limited connection' labeled on the WiFi network nor is there a yellow star/sun next to the wireless symbol. I've also noticed that when my ping starts to pike from 30-ish ping on game servers to like 400+ I disconnect from my router and reconnect and my ping is fixed. When I was on Windows 7 I had no problems, my WiFi never disconnects randomly. My wireless adapter is a TP-Link WN951N. I've noticed that Windows 8.1 installs a Qualcomm driver for my wireless automaticly but when I try to uninstall it from Device Manager, like 20seconds later it reinstall's itself again. I've actually tried disabling the wireless adapter and installing TP-Link's driver and reboot but my computer runs into a BSOD and refuses to boot into windows.

I've tried all those Power Management things to do with the WiFi adapter. I am running all the latest Windows 8.1 updates.

What could my problem be? It's driving me up the wall xD especially if you're gaming online :(.

Thanks,

Welcome to the world i used to live in <_<. I kept telling everyone win8 was shit if you're on wireless, because windows 8 hates wireless adapters on desktop pc's (but it's fine with laptops for some bizarre reason), but everyone said it was just me and that it worked just fine... I tried every single option online, spent about £75 on new wireless adapters, but nothing worked. You've got 2 options here, go back to Win7 where things actually work, or you could get a powerline adapter.

Also, win8/8.1 IS worse than vista, idgaf what you say, at least shit worked but was just slower on vista.

I had this issue for a while, but I had a different adaptor.

What I did to fix it, was to download the required driver, boot into safe mode, disconnect from the wilreless network and turn off the adaptor. I then updated the driver by selecting the driver manually.

This fixed it as far as I could tell.

It's been a while though and took me a week or two to fix through trial and error. I could be missing something.

Hope this helps.
