Loop Maintenance

So I will soon be doing maintenance on my loop the general changing the coolant, tubing and cleaning out the radiators but wanted some opinions on using Red Coolant in the past I have just use coloured tubing and distilled water and a silver kill coil but then I'm stuck with clear liquid in my reservoir so this time I was thinking of using Red coolant but wanted some opinions on it first as I have read that it can ruin the blocks and gunk up.
