Hello everyone, firstly, thank you for your time!

Budget (USD): $800-$1000 (Preferably, under $900)

Aim: 3D Design, Light Video Editing, Gaming (CS:GO, GTA IV, GTA V (When it comes out), Insurgency, Minecraft, etc.)

Monitors: Currently, a 20” 1600x900 VGA monitor. I am planning on eventually having a duel VGA or HDMI setup.

(So either buying a duplicate of my current, or 2 new HDMI/VGA)

Peripherals: I am planning on getting a Zowie FK1, any suggestions are appreciated. I am planning on keeping my stock keyboard. Any suggestions for a good headset or headphones and mics would be great. I will need a copy of Windows.

Why are you upgrading? I am upgrading because my current rig isn’t enough for what I do now.

Questions:

Would I be able to take my old Optical Drive and put it into the new rig?

Would I be able to take my old Hard Drive and put it into the new rig? (Have 2 drives)

Is there anything else that I should buy? (Thermal Paste, Wires, Anti-Static Mats, etc.)

You could probably cheap out on the motherboard if you want. You also probably don't want a 760 and you really don't want 4GB VRAM for your setup. Let's wait for a partlist builder to come along.

Thanks for being super optimistic!

Sig under construction.

xeon is i5 price with hyperthreading for video editing and streaming

970 is a very good card, much better than the 760 and still under $900

Could you cut this down a bit, if possible, by $50 or so? Thanks.

**EDIT: I reconsidered streaming, I would need to get a better upload speed for that, also, I mean light video editing, sorry.
