Hey everyone,

I'm trying to decide if I should use one of the AIO mounting brackets from Corsair or NZXT or build a custom loop. I have some concerns about using the mounting bracket.

My system:

4790K w/ h100i (I want to keep the h100i as it's working great for me)

2x 970 STRIX Cards (What I'll be cooling)

I have some concerns about the AIO mounting.

1) Will the included fan on the bracket be enough to cool the VRM?

2) Is it cheaper than a full loop?

I also have some concerns about making a GPU only loop:

3) If I do a custom loop, it'll be my first one. Is it risky to make?

4) Is there a better value compared to AIO w/ mounting brackets?

Any help/advice is much appreciated!

PS- What components should I get for the custom loop if I do one?

A Custom loop will perform the best, the AIO will be cheaper.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

i7 9700K (5.2Ghz @1.2V); MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC; Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3200 CAS 16; H100i RGB Platinum; Samsung 970 Evo 1TB; Samsung 850 Evo 500GB; WD Black 3 TB; Phanteks 350x; Corsair RM19750w.

Full loop will be better and cost more.

Also h80i wont work with g10, holy h110, h90, h60, h55, h60

Thanks for the help! I'll do a custom loop.

1) for gaming yes but If you try to run stuff like Furmark, you would overheat and kill the card (the VRM's would reach 100c+ in less than 30sec.

2) yes it is cheaper than a full loop, A full GPU water block alone costs $100+

3) It is risky in the sense if you have a leak (like the tubing not properly sealed), you would instantly fry the GPU.

4) not necessarily a better value but a bit better performance compared to AIO /w mounting bracket but has the flexibility to be used on many different GPUs compared to full cover waterblock which is usually only for a specific card).

Edit: if you want the best value, I suggest you get the Swiftech H220x/H240x + a universal GPU waterblock, that way you get very good performance for both the CPU and the CPU and you can even add another radiator in the loop later if you want an even better temps.

I suggest you read this review as it talks about the Swiftech AIO in depth and as to why it is better than almost all AIO you can get ATM.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

the corsair bracket does an acceptable job on vrms and ram but the only available model right now is for 290/x reference.  if you can afford go custom loop especially for 2 cards.

Mothership - 3770k @ 4.5 - 980ti SLI - Z77UD5

Protégé - FX8350 @ 4.8 - Fury X - CHVFZ
