Hey Guys,

I just picked up Wolfenstein: The New Order on the steam sale and istalled it on my pc. Problem is I realized that it is not running that well, in fact is runs like crap. I am currently running a GTX 680, and a 2560x1440 Ips Panel and my card can handle most games a medium to hight settings on that resolution, despite that i read that the card actually performs pretty good with Wolfenstein. Now the weired thing is that looking at the game while playing it seems to run at 1080p or even lower but definetely not at full res. Also textures look absolutely dreadfull and the framerate is depressing. Changing the graphics settings does not seem to change anything in the game everything looks the same, but if i turn everything to ultra the framerate drops to about 2 fps.

I got curious so i looked at afterburner and realized that the gpu core only chills around at about 50% and the gpu does not seem to do any work. I also realized, that the framebuffer of 2GB is completely full. I know for fact that the game should run miles better on my card that it does and i can not figure out why.

Also one aspect: I am running the German version of the game, due to german laws the game is censored and symboles (the swastika) and the english language got removed. Maybe someone has a clue what might be going wrong

Thanks for the help already!

just checked now for some reason i can turn literally everything to max and it still looke horrable

Yes, it does look crap. Specially close up.

The game use the ID Tech 5 engine with MegaTextures which allows massive variety at the cost of horrible resolution.

There is not much apparent difference between high and low settings in that game.
