Civilization: Beyond Earth?

Go to solution Solved by xboxonthego3,

I have both and I enjoy both very much. Beyond earth mixes it up a little with the Web technology tree and the awesome space theme but at the core they are the same game. But since you haven't play any game in this Genre I suggest trying out the Civ V complete edition first since it is cheaper. Then progress on to Beyond Earth.

I was curious to who has played this game and what they thought of it. I've never played any game in this genre type, but it has really sparked my interest lately. Plus I've been waiting to see how the price would change on Steam before I pulled the trigger. It is currently $29.99 and I really don't see it going any lower.

I have played it and honestly, you are better off getting a Civ V Complete edition because I found Civ V a lot more enjoyable than Beyond earth.

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

What is different about it compared to the older Sid games?

It feels boring and the entire theme is just so dark and grim that it doesn't feel like you're building an empire. It just feels a lot emptier than Civ V

I would say you have to see for yourself but it's a shame to waste $30 and then say you don't like it.

I think I will wait then. Thanks for the input!
