I'm not sure if I want to spend 300 to 500 dollars on a gaming chair, I mean I do need a new chair, yes!!! my fathers 10 year old  chair is all used up now and I get back problems just looking at it. With the kind of money though i could go out and i buy a new screen, a second graphics card or anything honestly!! So whats your guys opinion is it worth buying a new chair?? is there any good deals?? let me know please!!

as someone who daily drives a car with Recaro's and races regularly

I find this whole craze of "gaming" chairs for PC's absolutely ridiculous and just another example of how gullible "gamers" are

I just don't understand why kids think they need racing-seat style chairs for a PC. Get a quality chair and make sure you have good posture when using your PC....that's all you need

At first I was thinking like you, and luckily I decided not to do it.

Instead I went with a Ikea Markus chair for €160, got it for 7 months now. Love it. Tired of paying those extra €'s just because the "gaming" tag it got thrown on it.

I know a few people with "gaming" chairs who consider their bucket seat on a stick incredibly comfortable.

As long as it's comfortable, it really doesn't matter. I don't see the sense in spending $300+ on a chair that isn't a La-Z-Boy... but if that's how they want to spend their money, more power to them.

The gaming chair things are actually just CEO class business chairs with fancy colors. The price is pretty much same, so are features. The main difference between them and normal office chairs are the adjusting options and most likely far more larger/wider adjusting lengths and angles.

If you are pretty much normal or small sized, with normal length legs and back, just try out with normal office chairs. There are good ones among the crap. But if you have longer legs and/or back, the adjusting might not be enough. This was my problem with long legs and back. All cheap chairs and even €120+ chairs just fell short on height adjusting or getting my back supported properly. And since I also wanted arm rests there just wasn't anything except my current chair. This is €700, used and has everything what the recent $300+ gaming chair Linus made video about has. And I've been using it daily for almost 10 years, only minor mark on foam arm rests and some wearing on leather.

Most "racing" chairs are suited for most people, in terms of posture. They are super confortable to most people i know. To get a chair with the same build quality and features, here is the uk, like dxracer, GTomega, and so on, is hard. You pay around the same tbh. I would pay a little extra for a chair that looks good, that is super confy and durable.

Also, comparing the way you seat on a car and on a pc is kinda meh...  Don't get me wrong, i get your point, but most "racing" chairs for pc are, imho, worth the money, specially when compared with normal chairs around the same price.
