is it possible for me to make my own arm based mobo. buying an arm cpu and ram and all the other stuff and just soldering it onto a pcb? i recently wanted to do this  but cant find a arm based mobo that has all its i/o ports on 1 side in order for me to fit it into a router housing. i thought it would make for an interesting build log but cant seem to find the boards. can you guys help me out.

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

I don't think making your own ARM mobo is such a feasible idea.

You can pick up a Nvidia Jetson K1(32 bit Quad Core) DevKit for $192 . It has all the ports you would find on a PC( including miniPCIe, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet, RS232 serial) and also GPIO pins. Also the K1 is one of the most baller ARM SoCs out there, so you shouldn't go wrong with it.

wow you have gotten me interested in the board. i just want to know the size of it. it looks bigger than other boards and i think i would have to rethink about what chasis i would put this in.

it's rather small, that's a micro-usb port on the far right.
