SSD Bad Performance?

Ok, I found the problem and I am posting the solution I came up with here.

 

For some reason my boot controller was set to IDE and not AHCI

 

Changing to AHCI in the bios menu led to blue screens. So:

 

Start in safe mode.

Change from IDE to AHCI in the bios.

Boot into windows.

Turn off safe mode. Restart.

I ran the samsung magician performance test on my new 850 pro and it came back with this

Well here is my OCZ Vertex 4 from 2 years ago and this was 2 years of usage just tested it last night.

that looks a little low but yet we are maxing out the SATA 6Gb/sec with SSDs so it might be fine.
