I am looking to upgrade from my horrible 27 inch westinghouse TV, to something with the following:

-At least 1440p

-Larger than 27 inches

- 3D capable (whether it be passive, or active)

I have my sight on the Seiki SE39UY04 39-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz LED TV.This interests me because it can deliver a 3D experience @ 1080p, or awesome 120hz refresh rate, or it can be bumped up to 1440p or some other custom resolution, and then be set @ 4K for video editing and productivity.

I considered this because I love all the versatility it gives at around $400 to $500. I am a gamer, I play on PC, PS4, and Xbox. For the consoles I like to sit back from the display and relax on the couch, when PC use I like to sit closer and have a higher resolution.

So what I am wondering is, If anyone has any ideas on an alternative please feel free to share.

Again, I FREAKING LOVE 3D, even if its the RealD, and a bigger size/resolution is a must.

The monitor can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOPGO2G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=18VCXWL8KOIWQ&coliid=I2LTSA4S4OJ2BS&psc=1

Just no please. Please don't get that tv. In general TV's have high input lag and they are not good for gaming if your competitive. Also your console can not support playing games at 4k. Also from my knowledge HDMI 1.4 does not support 120Hz at 1080p but it might for 3d only. Also What gpu are you running. Remember 3D gaming requires a high end gpu. 120Hz would be cut in half so 60Hz per eye. Please not consoles can barely maintain 60fps at 1080p. Most console games run at 792p or 900p.

Love cats and Linus. Check out linuscattips-fan-club. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9QDVn and Asus ROG Swift. I love anime as well. Check out Heaven Society heaven-society. My own personal giveaway thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/387856-evga-geforce-gtx-970-giveaway-presented-by-grimneo/.

I know about all the resolutions, my console's will only output at 1080 and thats fine as ill be across the room. Its a PS4 so I know its been handling 1080 fine. The only time ill be using 4K is for productivity apps like Photoshop. I am not a competitive gamer, more of a slow and steady, the worst is minecraft so im not worrying about input lag that much. I never mentioned GPU's because I have two GTX 780's in SLI so im not worried.

I checked the manufacture page and questioned an owner about it. The TV has a 120hz refresh rate at 1080

I've heard that you can't go over 60Hz if you connect it to a PC.

Most TVs just do some tricks to make it feel like 120Hz, I could be wrong though.

The stars died for you to be here today.

A locked bathroom in the right place can make all the difference in the world.

HDMI 1.4b will do 120Hz for 3d only. I don't know about 2d.

That tv is 120Hz native so op will be fine at 1080p. You are right that most tvs just do interpolation.

Also your console cant support 120fps at 1080p for the 3d. It can barely handle 1080p 60fps. You be cutting your frames in half and adding more input lag. Also for gaming on pc it will add an extreme amount of input lag even with sli. Anyways best of luck.
