I am building a new computer. The specs are:

CM n200

Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H

Intel Core i3 4150

16GB RAM Crucial Ballistix 1600MHz (Remember this)

Sapphire Radeon r9 270x 4GB

Seagate Barracuda 1TB in RAID1

Antec EDG650 80 Plus Gold

Do you guys & gals think that 16GB RAM is overkill? I will mostly be coding, being an internet power user (using a butt ton of tabs), and mass gaming.

*Please note that the price of the RAM is added after building the computer

Have you tried to restart it?

8GB should be plenty for that already. I'd recommend getting a ssd instead for improved responsiveness.

This belongs in the New Builds and Planning section. I'm moving the thread.

I'd recommend spending the 60 bucks elsewhere. How much RAM are you currently using (like right now on task manager?) It'll give you some indication if you really need 16 gigs. Remember, you can upgrade your RAM very easily tomorrow. You won't be able to upgrade your SSD or CPU as easily without wasting some money.
