Im Looking to build an all around rig...meaning about 80% for gaming and 20% for photoshop, illustrator, and similar programs.

My budget is about $2000.00 but will only have $800.00 to get a PC up and running till i can access my other funds. If you have time i would appreciate some advise for parts and which of those parts i should spend the 800 on first to get an up and running PC. Thanks and much appreciated.

Im the reason i said i was using this pc for gaming and other stuff was to determine weather i should get an i7 or i5....i would like to start with the essential parts first..mobo, processor, memory....stuff like that but need help deciding what to get to have  a running computer...cause last one was a store bought POS handed down and it finally crashed. but i dont want to cheap out using that 800 either since my future budget rises to 2000.00

Unless you need the extra threads, stick with the i5 because it's a better value that still performs admirably.

What kind of dollars are you using? Is a copy of Windows or any peripherals needed?

You need to quote a post or tag a member or else they won't get a notification you replied to them.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

How long will it be before you have access to the rest of the money?

not sure what that means...us dollars

There are forum members from all over the world that use New Zealand dollars, Australian dollars, etc.

I'd suggest something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KbBY8d

and surviving off of the iGPU until you can afford the other parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PB2fRB

As for speakers/headphones, head towards the Audio sub-forum for some recommendations.
