So I've been playing The Crew for some time and there are some problems I was able to work around for some time as long as the game decided to play nice. The main problem is that every time I connect to game, it drops windows microphone volume down to 50%. It happens every time I start up the game or it loses the connection and have to reconnect. I've tried everything I found on the internet - running as admin game executables, disabling uplay voice chat, setting sound communications thingy to 'do nothing' in control panel, but none of that has worked. Temporary solution to this is alt tab out of the game, turn back the mic volume to 100% and play, but yesterday it got even better. I mostly use mumble for communications, but had to go on teamspeak when I noticed that friends are ignoring me. Turns out that the game somehow was disabling my push-to-talk. Put it to voice activation and it worked great. Is there someone with similar problems and/or has solved them?

TL;DR

The Crew:

  • on startup/lost connection turns down mic volume in windows to 50%
  • disables teamspeak push-to-talk
  • using windows 8.1, asus z97-a onboard audio and creative fatal1ty headset
  • help?
