Where does the GTX 690 currently stand?

Doing a little searching and can't find anything particularly concrete so thought I'd leave the question here to be answered: Where does the GTX 690 currently stand in the battle for GPU supremacy?

I'm I right in presuming somewhere between a 970 and 980? Higher? Lower? How about purely for 1080p?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

980 will basically pwn it when using Shadowplay, but will not have quite as high FPS in games that can use SLi, without SLi, the 980 'produces more sunshine and rainbows'

A GTX690 is still a fine setup for 1080p. The GK104 was made for 1080p gaming and your GTX690 is nothing but a GTX680 2way SLI on one PCB. You don't have to worry too much about 1080p gaming.

In terms of performance would a single GTX980 always be my preferred solution for gaming in 1080p. These cards run super quiet und OC like beasts usually even with a lower ASIC. Most of the cards boost up to 1500MHz.

You are both stellar gentleman and a fine addition to mankind. I thought it would be around there but wanted to confirm! I plan to be using the 690 in a media/controller build under the TV and having it watercooled so the temps/noise aren't an issue. Thanks!!
