Windows 8.1 Pro Student.

In my upcoming build I think I will be using a Windows 8.1 Pro Student version as the operating system. Will it work the same as a retail version of it or is it only an upgrade from Windows 7. Do I have to do something on my current computer, Windows 10, to be able to use it?
