CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 630

This CPU doesnt have an unlocked multiplier, so you have to overclock using the bus speed. These are my current numbers:

Core speed: 3.4 GHz (2.8 default)

Bus speed: 243 MHz (200 default)

Voltage: 1.4 (1.4 default)

I also kept the HT Link and North Bridge (?) speeds the same. My Bios says that the NB shouldnt be lower than the HT Link. They are both at 2430 MHz.

It boots (obviously), and i ran the CPU render test on Cinebench R15 five times in a row without any pause. Temperatures maxed out at 50 C degrees at the second run, and kept at 49-50 through the rest of the runs.

I think i can go further than this too.

What do you guys think? Any advice on any of this?

overclocking by adjusting the baseclock can cause strange issues occuring on various controllers like sata, pcie, or usb.

Id recommend doing some more different benchmarks like aida, occt, valley and actual games to look for issues apart from the cpu its self.

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

So how exactly do i check whether things are ok? As long as nothing weird happens, im fine?

Well, i ran Heaven and Valley at maxed settings and the Aida64 benchmark, and it all seems fine.

ok, you wont really be able to test any more actively, it seems stable so far.

You will have to just use the system in a daily usecase and hope for it to be fine

I tried 3.6 and 3.5 GHz, but both of those had problems. At 3.6, first boot, it rebooted itself a few seconds later, and second boot it gave a BSOD, 3.5 gave a BSOD straight away. Set it back to the exact settings i started with, as in my first post, and it seems good. I will do some gaming later and just generally use it, so if still nothing happens, i guess we're good :)
