Profile backup

My friend recently told me that he had backed up his profile to ensure that the data stored is safe in another place if the computer crashes. And he repeats the same thing frequently i.e. moving information. He was using CloudBacko backup software at that time.

 

I need to know if creating the back up of the profile is really important. If yes, then why should we do it and how that can be done? Can anyone give me the varied options in the market and the pros and cons of the same?

Backing up what profile is what I have to ask. The thing you linked seems to be some service that combines other services so that you can have more cloud storage(which is cool I guess). If you asking about the data on your computer, then it really depends on how important the data is to you. If you have lots of pictures(that are valuable) and important programs(and what not), then it would be worth it, but if you don't then I wouldn't worry too much. I personally like local bakups(with using another PC and/or USB HDD), but to each their own.
