Upgrading gpu

Hi

 

I have this in my pc:

•  Geforce gtx 580
•  Intel i7-960

 

I have gotten some new games for Christmas:

•  Far Cry4
•  COD Advanced Warfare
• -Assassin's Creed Unity

 

But i need to lower the textures quite a bit. So i can play them fluently. So i am thinking it might be time to upgrade my gpu. But i am worried if it is worth just upgrading it to a 980. Or should i also upgrade my cpu to avoid a bottleneck?

that cpu is still relevent so you might just want to upgrade the gpu

I'd recommend you upgrade to the 970 if you're looking for bang for the buck, otherwise the 980 is a great card.

I'd start with the video card, and see if you need to take it further afterward.

 

What resolution is your monitor, what framerate do you expect to get, and at what settings?
