So I was wondering, because I have no clue when it comes to GPUs. Which video card should I get for gaming? My requirements are that the card can run ultra at 1080p resolution, have a minimum of 60fps under heavy load. and a maximum of 140. Most have low noise on fans. and G-sync Im looking in the neighborhood of under $500 max budget on a single card. (Only video cards from the Nvidia Family.)

Only 2 gpu are in those price range that will fit your need the 970 and the 780ti. A 780 ti will run faster but used more power and has slightly higher temperature not to mention it is about 100$ + more expensive then a 970. I think getting a single 970 strix will serve you well it can run game at ultra 1080p 60fps, g-sync and low noise fans since the strix model fans doesn't turn on until the gpu hit a certain temperature.

well what games you planning to play, "next-gen"? get gtx 970 , gtx 970 can play any next-gen games at 1080p at smooth frame rate.

I don't get your point on maximum 140 fps tho xD, hmm I assume you have a 144hz monitor so you doesn't want more than 140 fps so you won't get stuterring? well If it is, that's not how its works

You won't get 60fps minimum at ultra in everything. That's just impossible unless you spend way more than makes any sense on a gpu.

That said a gtx 970 seems to fit your description pretty well.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

The 970 but don't expect minimum 60fps at all games.

Get a EVGA 970 SSC. It's about $100 away from your budget limit. Or just spend $50 more and get a GTX 980. (recommended)
