microphone detected but cannot pick up anything

The other day i was in a skype call and all of the sudden my friend just couldnt here me any more skyp said my mic was muted (x12's btw) and windows couldnt pick up anythign and today i got the a40's and the same  thing is happenening i have updated drivers i dont know what wrong pls helppp

and yes i have tried right clicking on the mic button and enabling it
