So I'm trying to install Windows 7 from a USB onto a laptop.

Since my friend doesn't want to pay for Windows, I pirated one - Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate (64 Bit)

I used Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool to make a bootable Win7 installation USB.

The USB is an Intenso 4GB. File system is NTFS.

The laptop is an ASUS X550C. I plug the USB into an 2.0 port, power the thing on and open boot menu, but the USB isn't there.

Legacy USB is on.

I know it works because on my PC with ASRock Z97M Pro4 it recognizes it.

Any ideas?

I'd try using Rufus to make the bootable USB. I've had problems like this with the Windows 7 USB DVD Tool.
