So I just got a new HDD for Christmas, and for some reason windows is not recognizing it.  I can see it in the BIOS as it is another boot option, but it does not show up in file explorer.  It is a 1TB wd caviar blue.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

go into windows and use the Disk Management tool. You should be able to see your 1TB drive located there as "un-initialized" Right click it and select initialize and then the same again only format it with NTFS. Your computer will now recognize it in windows (My pc etc...)

How are you installing windows?  Make sure you're not using a usb 3.0 device as that confuses the windows install, try using a bootable optical disc (yeah I know) or try using a usb 2.0 port.

I've had the computer for a year now.  Installed using  disk.
