CPU running too hot

Go to solution Solved by vlkn´,

change the pump settings and fans speeds if you can. And don´t leave it on "silent mode" or something like that.

Bubbles in the liquid and substances that block your heatfins in the radiator/cpu cooler can lead to less "cooling performance".

If after changing the speed settings, the temperatures aren´t lower than before. I´ll recommend you to rma the cooler.

Hello, I have am Intel i5 4670k that Is set to stock clock and voltage ("Auto" in the BIOS) but for some reason it runs on 80~95c

I have the Corsair H100i and my mobo is gigabyte z87x-ud4h running Windows 7 64 bit

But the thing is that the problem is new, I have this PC for about 6 months now, I did try to OC it but It was too hot and unstable on 4.3 Ghz so I passed on the idea of OCing it for now, so I've got it back to stock settings and it ran fine on a peak of 60~70c while gaming, but now it just runs on startup at 80~95c... Yesterday it was all fine...

Download CPUID HWMonitor and see if that reads the same, if it does then you need to recheck the block because that isn't normal.

I don't think that after 6 months since I've built this system it will be a hardware placement problem problem, but I will try this, as soon as I'll get some thermal paste...

Well... Corsair Link shows the same temps (- 5c or so), and you mean the block that is attached to the CPU lid..?

Now I notice that the core voltage on CPU-Z is bouncing between 1.096v and 1205v, I remeber that the stock should be lower then that, but I'm not sure 100%.. any one knows the stock voltage..? and the multiplier bounces between 36 and 38, maybe I should set it manually to it's stock speed and voltage..? at least untill I'll get some paste so I reseat it all...

Your h100i is running at 76 degrees which I don't believe is normal for that block. I use a 4690k, and a radiator myself (NZXT) and my liquid temperature has never gone above 40 degrees C on full load even when overclocked. My guess is it's most likely a problem with the cooler itself. Inspect it and see what's going on, and if you can't find a solution, just return it. It should definitely still have warranty.
