This is my first time building and this build is based on my personal research:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 250D mITX

Motherboard: MSI Z971 AC mITX

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K Unlocked 3.4 GHz LGA1150

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 770 OC Twin Frozr

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3-1600

PSU: Corsair CX Series CX500 500W

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm

Heatsink: Corsair H100i CPU Cooler

Fans: Other fans

Screen: not too big of a deal

Additional Points:

  • Currently a budget of $1400
  • I would like to base the build on the mentioned motherboard and that range of GPU
  • That said: Perhaps another GPU of the same price range but better performance? adjustable
  • No plans on overclocking yet but I'd like to keep the option open
  • Storage will obviously be changeable but definitely not SSDs

Problems:

  • RAM/PSU compatibility: I've given my best guess to ram and psu choices but im not too sure if either of them will work well with this build especially whether or not 500W is enough

Yes I like corsair and msi. :)

Replace the i5 4670k with a 4690k. The Haswell Refresh SHOULD overclock better.

And why the GTX 770?
