No power to peripherals

I seem to be having trouble with an older computer. The system will start up but the monitor will not display any information. Additionally, all other peripherals connected to the back I/O panel are not powered. This includes mouse, keyboard, Ethernet, etc.

 

• Win XP Pro
• Intel D865GRH Motherboard
• 4x512MB AMC PC2700 RAM
• WD Cavier SE 80GB IDE (Model#: WD800J8 - 00JJC0)
• Turbolink Switching PSU

 

At first I thought the monitor may have finally given out since its as old if not older than this system. I replaced the monitor with an alternate VGA monitor which resulted in the same scenario. There does seem to be a connection but all I receive is a black screen.

 

The keyboard and mouse both receive no power from their respective ports. Connecting them to different back I/O ports results in no change. Due to the setup I am unable to migrate the cables to the front panel of the system to test the keyboard/mouse there. Nor do I have an extension cable currently available.

 

I have tested the system by removing RAM from 4 modules down to 1. All resulted in the same scenario as described.

 

Note: I am in no rush for an answer as I will have limited time with this system today. Any suggestions made will be tested once I have time with the machine later today or tomorrow. I will relay any new information that becomes available during testing.

Hmm, thats a shame if it has. I wonder if Intel will confirm that with my latest inquiry?

So after troubleshooting the problem a bit I was able to contact Intel support. They have confirmed your suspicion that the board has finally failed. Thanks for the help!
